Korean stationery (similar to Japanese stationery) is known for being very cute, colourful and sometimes just strange! There’s also often some very bad translating going on with the English wording. This is all part of the kitsch cuteness of Korean stationery, and I think sometimes they do it on purpose!
Back in New Zealand I loved really simple, monochrome stationery but since living in Korea for almost a year, I’ve come to love colour and cute things a lot more! Korean stationery is so much more interesting than normal stationery, and makes you smile whenever you look at it. It may not always be very office-appropriate, but why not have fun at home when you’re taking notes?!
My favourite styles of Korean stationery are:
- floral patterns
- vintage dolls or girls
- other cute animals
- polka dots
- awkward happy English sayings
What do you think of Asian stationery? Do you like any of these? Let me know!
