The Devonport Craft Market

If you’re on the hunt for locally made Christmas gifts, or looking for something unique for yourself, check out the Devonport Craft Market!

I recently moved to Devonport, after living overseas and in Wellington. It’s little community-style things that really make you feel at home, and I love the friendly atmosphere of the craft market. I’ve been twice now; the first time I won some “market money” which I happily spent buying pretty things for myself and my sister. The second time I took some photos and bought some more cute things (with my own money this time!)

The market is on the first Sunday of every month, but runs more frequently in the lead-up to Christmas. See here for more details. If you’re coming from the city, there is plenty of parking next to the market in the New World parking lot. Otherwise it’s a very short walk from the ferry terminal!

There are a variety of stalls; some are regulars while others change monthly. You can find everything from food, to baby clothing, jewellery and mini terrariums.

My favourite sellers (so far) are:

SongBird Designs (jewellery)

Nava Terrariums

Stephanie Grace Jewellery

and my friend Carla’s company, Clover Design (laser cut cards and art)
