Hi everyone, I have another Face of the Day post here. I don’t usually change my daily makeup look very often, but I’ve been inspired by my latest Etude House purchases. I’m trying to be (a little) more fun and adventurous with the colours and styles I wear.
Inspired by Tokyo:
Today I was inspired by my upcoming trip to Japan. I was thinking specifically about Tokyo makeup styles like the famous doll-like Harajuku girl look. I wanted to try something a little bit sickly sweet and pink, a little like this (but with less dolls!):
My Tokyo makeup look:
I used my new Etude House Play 101 pencil because I was interested in trying out all of its features. It is marketed as a ‘magic’ pencil which can be used as a: blusher, eyeliner, eyeshadow, contour, lipstick, brow pencil and more! The Play 101 pencil is really popular and comes in a big variety of shades. I bought a bright candy pink colour just for fun.
I applied the Play 101 pencil (#16) as blush, lipstick and eyeliner. For the blush I drew it on in small strokes and blended with my fingers to create a circle of pink. For the lipstick I drew it on around the edges and then filled in the middle. I think it works badly as a lipstick though because its the wrong texture – not smooth and creamy enough. For the eyeliner I applied this under my eyes to contrast with the black eyeliner on top.
My eyeshadow is a peach and gold glitter combo, created using Etude House and Aritaum eyeshadows.
Would you wear coloured eyeliner? Do you want to try the Play 101 pencil range? Let me know in the comments 🙂
