This Outfit of the Day was actually from last Sunday but I haven’t had time to post it until now. I’d been waiting for a chance to wear this pretty, floaty H&M kimono and decided to wear it on a lazy relaxed Sunday. It was a hot, sticky, rainy day which was spent mostly travel-planning in a cafe. The kimono was a little uncomfortable in the humidity, but on the plus side, it really accentuated any breeze that fluttered through it. It turned out to be perfect for the few hours we were in the cafe, because the aircon was super cold!
I paired this translucent black floral kimono with a simple white tshirt from Uniqlo and navy high waisted shorts. The red belt added an extra pop of colour which has a bit of an Asian vibe (I am in Korea after all!) I think this outfit would’ve looked better with some chunky heels, but I’m really not a heels person (I can’t walk in them at all, and I have horrible weak ankles and feet). I love the kimono and will see what other combinations I can come up with. I want to wear this in Japan (if it’s not too hot) because it would be so appropriate 🙂
I have so much work to do in terms of posing for these OOTD photos – I have no idea what I’m doing haha!
Anyway, here are the photos (kindly provided by Rob). They’re shot in an alleyway in downtown Gwangju, Korea.
What do you think of the kimono? How would you style it? I’d love to hear your thoughts 🙂
